What to put on it
What goes on a save the date?
Your two names, the date, the city, and “invitation to follow”. That’s the whole job. Leave out the timings and the list of functions; those belong on the invitation, and they often change after the save the date goes out. The full-length caricature invitations are the exception: they walk through every function and end on RSVP.
Card, game or film? A card is a link the guest taps or scratches, and it ends on Add to Calendar. A game is the same link with a joke first, for the friends’ group. A film is a video file: it plays in the chat, gets saved and forwarded, and the 3D and animated ones carry each family’s name.

A save the date is the first note guests get about a wedding: the couple's names, the date, the city, and a line that the full invitation will follow. It goes out before the invitation so guests can block the days, book leave and plan travel.

When should I send a save the date for an Indian wedding?
